Baphomet is a deity allegedly worshipped by the Knights Templar and is a symbol of balance in various occult and mystical traditions because it is: half-human and half-animal, male and female, good and evil. Contains mugwort, yarrow, lemon oil, sandalwood, white camphor, fine fragrance, and other essential oils and herbs in a base of fractionated coconut oil.
In the 19th century, when people were talking about and making guesses about why the Templars were killed, the name “Baphomet” started to be used by the general public. Modern scholars agree that the name “Baphomet” was an Old French version of the name “Mohammed.” It is thought that some Templars, because of their long military occupation of the Outremer, had started to incorporate Islamic ideas into their beliefs, which the Inquisitors saw as heresy and wrote down.
